Chairman/person
The chairman is responsible for organising monthly committee meetings as well as assigning tasks to committee members and chasing them up to ensure the club runs smoothly. During the year they must ensure that as a club we are following BSAC and AU rules. Lastly they are responsible for organising and running the yearly AGM.
Captain
The captain’s main responsibility is to liaise with the AU and provide them with trip registration and risk assessment forms for any club trips. They must keep the AU informed of the club’s activities and status, including informing them of instructor qualifications, providing them with an up to date log of our club kit and dealing with AU memberships.
Diving Officer
The diving officer is an important role within a BSAC club. They are responsible for liaising with BSAC and overseeing the club’s diving. They should ideally be qualified at least to Dive Leader.
Training Officer
The training officer is responsible for all the club’s training, on Tuesday and Thursday nights and the annual training weekend. They are able and encouraged to try and delegate some of this responsibility to other committee members willing to help!
Assistant Training Officer
The assistant training officer is to assist with the planning and running of the club’s training.
Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for the organisation and tracking of all of the club’s funds, so this is a very important position. They must liaise with the AU on our accounts and sign cheques for any of the club’s costs/purchases.
Boat Officer
Responsible for the upkeep of the boat (Aquaholic), ensuring it remains compliant with the relevant regulatory authorities and training others how to use it.
General Secretary
The general secretary is responsible for AU and BSAC membership at the start of the year and taking minutes at meetings throughout.
Social Secretary
The social secretary is responsible for organising regular and relevant socials, e.g. planning dates, times, locations, themes. They are also usually responsible for organising club stash.
Webmaster
Frankly, a slightly ridiculous title but you’re responsible for everything you’re reading/the upkeep of the online files.
