The main kind of bow used in competition is the Recurve bow, due to the curve at the ends of the bow

The Exeter University Archery Club (EUAC) is one of over 50 clubs which are part of the Exeter University Athletics Union, and one which can certainly claim to offer some of the more unique experiences in your university life. After all, what other clubs can offer activities which include shooting at life-sized bears in a forest!

Irrespective of bow style or ability, EUAC can cater to you. For the beginner, we offer a 6 week introduction course which teaches you how to shoot both safely and effectively, as well as all enough equipment to keep you going until you feel you want to get your own. For the more advanced archer, we have access to a 20 metre indoor range and an outdoor range with enough room for anything. We also have a fully qualified and experienced coach to help you improve your technique.

Finally, the EUAC can also offer to those who are simply looking for an amazing bunch of people to hang out with. With regular socials throughout the year, as well as regular sessions where you decide how much or little shooting you want to do, the EUAC has been the basis for loads of friendships, a few romances and even a pair of weddings!
