As with much every club and society in the University, the Archery Club is run by a committee of volunteers, elected by the previous years membership. The committee is the first point of contact for any questions or problems, either by chatting to one of them at session or sending them all an email to email@example.com. Not that you will have any problems, since we are all such nice people...
Captain - Martin Salisbury
I'm Martin and I'm a final year History student. I got involved in archery as a nervous rookie during Fresher's Week and have been addicted to the sport and the great atmosphere of the club ever since! As Captain I oversee the running of the club, liase with the AU, represent the club and co-ordinate the commitee. If you have any questions about the club, the sport or have ideas or suggestions for ways we can improve the club I'm always very happy to hear from you!
Squad Captain - Alex Turnbull
I'm Frodo (don't ask, please?) and I'm a student of Russian and International Relations, in my fourth and final year. I'll be the squad captain for the year ahead, and looking forward to it - I've been shooting now for the past three years or so, mainly recurve, with occasional disastrous forays into barebow. I'll be in charge of our squad training, and beginners' courses for which I've a decent amount of experience: I taught in both my first and second years, and made almost every competition we had as a club in those two years (as a languages student, I've spent the last year abroad in Russia). (Also, for all those of you who make the squad next year, SHOOT BETTER!)
Co-Equipment Officer - Jen Griffiths
I'm Jen, a second year engineering student and an archery club quippy. I joined archery last year as a fresher and throughly enjoy the atmosphere of the club and the sport itself. I'm not the best shot, but I'm a lot better than when I started after all one of the reason I became a equipment officer is that while learning to shoot I broke quite a few things and therefore learnt how to fix them! Feel free to come to me if you have and queries or problems with equipment, I'll do my best to sort you out.
Co-Equipment Officer - Jason Chen
Details, details, all the details in the world. And they are missing. Therefore, you get placeholder text, and a note that I could have been far, far more sadistic and cruel about this.
Co-Treasurer - Leticia Kent
I'm a second year student studying Radiography and co-treasurer for the club, I basically help out with the club finances. I first gave archery a proper go in my freshers week and haven't looked back since, I think it was the combination of a great bunch of people and the sweets that persuaded me.
Co-Treasurer - Charlotte Allen
Hi, I'm Charlotte and I will be co-treasurer for the club this year along with Tish. I am a fourth year Animal Behaviour student and have been in the club since going to a taster session in my first year and absolutely loving it. I have not only enjoyed the sport itself but also the great atmosphere within the club. I look forward to meeting you all and hope you enjoy the club as much as I have!
Alternative Archery Co-ordinator - Matthew Batchelor
Iím Matt and Iím a second year physics student. Iíve been shooting barebow for seven years (not that you could tell) and I joined the club as a fresher last year. My job is to liaise with local clubs to try and organise field and clout shoots. Field involves shooting at pictures or models of animals in woodland and clout is shooting at a target a long way away.
Secretary - David House
Hi there, I'm Dave. I am a second year Physics student, I started archery when I joined the club at the beginning of last year, and have become to club secretary (someone has to look after all the interesting forms) and chief fancy dress co-ordinator. I'll also try to make sure that the social secretaries don't get too out-of-hand!
Co-Social Secretary - Devon Compton
I'm Devon and I'm a second year Physics student. I joined archery because of the great atmosphere. The other members were really welcoming and I've made some great friends. I want to help new members feel as welcome as I did and hence became one of the Social Secretaries.
Co-Social Secretary - Daniel Bull
Goodbye! My name is Dan and I will be (with Devon) this years social sec team. This pretty much means that you will hear me gormlessly yelling "PUB" and the end of each session and will occasionaly be getting messages from me inviting you to various social events. For my self I'm a second year maths student and this will be my second year in archery. I look forward to meeting you all and coming up with many amusing nicknames!
